Dr. Ali SEZEN Ph.D., born in 1954 in Karaman, graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. In 1984, he completed his specialization in “Acupuncture and Homeopathy” at Sri Lanka International University Medicina Alternativa. He earned his doctorate in 1986 at International Acupuncture Science at Seoul University in South Korea.
In the same year, he was elected to the board of directors of the Academia Diplomatique De La Paix (PAIX-MUNDI) headquartered in Brussels. In 1987, he became a founding member of the Commonwealth Institute of Acupuncture & Natural Medicines, with Queen Elizabeth of England serving as honorary president. That same year, he was honored with a gold medal by Medicina Alternativa at the World Alternative Medicine Congress held in Denmark.
In 1988, he chaired the 15th World Medicina Alternativa Acupuncture & Natural Medicines Congress held in Spain. In 1989, he was awarded the “Royal Order” by the International Medicina Alternativa Association (I.M.A.). In 1990, he chaired the Organizing Committee of the World Acupuncture & Natural Medicines Congress in Havana, Cuba. That same year, he became a member of the Ministry of Health’s Acupuncture Commission in Turkey.
In 1991, he became a founding member of the China-based ECIWO Biology Association. In 1992, he was honored with the title of “Honorary Professor” by Multan University in Pakistan. In 1993, he received the “Honourable Pandit” award from I.M.A. and served as the Secretary General of I.M.A. between 1993 and 1996. In 2005, he served as President of the International Magnetotherapy Association. Since 2007, he has been a Lifetime Trustee of the International Disabled Foundation.
In 1997, a park was established in his honor in Ümitköy, Ankara.
